  1. Cycad is a plant of the order Cycadales
  2. belonging to the gymnosperms. Some have a
  3. superficial resemblance to palms, others to
  4. ferns. Their large cones contain fleshy 
  5. seeds. There are ten genera and about 80-100
  6. species, native to tropical and subtropical
  7. countries.
